I watched him beat her. She would always keep a strong face and when she found I was watching, would run to me and start to comfort me. When she needed the comfort.
Why would he hit her? What gives him any right to hit her? He doesn't treat anyone else like he treats her, like he hits her. What did she do to deserve that?
I try and stop him. I put myself in the middle and still, she makes excuses for him, saying, "he will change . . . he is old now . . . he cannot hurt me." But when physical strength starts to lack, the emotional, verbal abuse starts. No one deserves this.
